Keita Sato | Japanese Business Services | GBQ Partners

GBQ, a Top 100 tax, accounting, and advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Keita Sato, CPA, has joined the firm as a director within its Japanese Business Services practice. In his role, Sato will support Japanese-owned businesses in successfully navigating operations and growth opportunities across the United States.

Sato brings a deep understanding of  U.S. and Japanese business environments. His cross-cultural expertise positions him to effectively guide clients through complex cross-border accounting, advisory, and business development initiatives.

Beginning his career in audit, Sato has since broadened his focus to business development, working closely with organizations to build trusted relationships and deliver tailored, strategic solutions. His ability to bridge cultural and communication gaps, combined with his bilingual background, enables him to connect clients across geographies and help them confidently navigate unfamiliar business landscapes.

Originally born in Japan and raised in Ohio, Sato offers a distinctive global perspective shaped by his personal and professional experiences. He remains actively engaged in strengthening connections between Japanese and U.S. business communities, including participation in international delegations such as the Ohio trade mission to Japan.

“Keita’s unique blend of cultural fluency, technical expertise, and a relationship-driven approach makes him an outstanding addition to our thriving Japanese Business Services team,” said Matt Stamp, JD, LLM, a partner on GBQ's  State and Local Tax team. “His ability to connect with clients on both a professional and personal level will further strengthen our commitment to helping Japanese-owned businesses succeed and grow in the U.S. market.”

Sato earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA), the Japan-American Society of Central Ohio ( JASCO), and the Central Ohio Japanese Association of Commerce (COJAC).
