With two teenage boys at home, Will's spare time is full of high school sports, theater events, marching band concerts — not to mention the unpaid taxi driver duties that come with the package. Those apples don't fall far from the tree, though, as Will still performs his own music from time to time!
Will has been helping credit unions better serve their members and communities for more than twenty years, and we're lucky to have his expertise — and his passion for the work — on our team.

Will joined GBQ in 2024 following the firm's acquisition of Lillie & Co and Lillie Resource Group. With a career deeply rooted in the credit union industry, Will's expertise spans internal audit, compliance, and financial management. Over the past few years, his primary focus has been overseeing internal audit and EAP engagements. Additionally, he has conducted opinion and statutory audits and provided a range of consulting services, including ALM model validations, loan reviews, business participation reviews, and annual FedLine security assessments.
Prior to joining GBQ, Will served as an auditor and consultant at Lillie & Co., where he managed the internal audit function and performed financial statement, internal, and compliance audits for credit union clients. His experience also includes assisting in fraud investigations and forensic accounting procedures.
Earlier in his career, Will held leadership roles at CME Federal Credit Union and State Highway Patrol Federal Credit Union, where he managed finance, accounting, and IT functions, implemented strategic financial initiatives, and ensured regulatory compliance. His professional journey began with roles at First Carolina Corporate Credit Union and the North Carolina Department of Commerce, where he developed a solid foundation in regulatory examinations and financial oversight.
Throughout his career, Will has been committed to enhancing the operational and financial performance of credit unions, leveraging his deep industry knowledge to deliver meaningful insights and results.
