Tamar Ness

Tamar joined GBQ in 2026, bringing more than 25 years of experience in public accounting with a deep focus on nonprofit organizations. She specializes in nonprofit tax compliance, governance and regulatory advisory, auditing, and financial reporting, and is widely recognized for her expertise in Forms 990, 990-PF, and 990-T, multi-state filing requirements, UBIT analysis, and IRS and state representation.

Throughout her career, Tamar has led tax compliance for more than 100 exempt organizations ranging in size and complexity, from small nonprofits to large organizations with revenues exceeding $300 million. She has worked closely with public charities, private foundations, and membership organizations, ensuring accurate, timely filings while helping clients navigate complex regulatory and reporting requirements.

Tamar is a trusted advisor to boards, CFOs, and executive leadership teams, frequently presenting tax filings to audit committees and providing guidance on governance matters, executive compensation disclosures, public support tests, and evolving IRS regulations. She is known for her ability to translate highly technical tax issues into clear, actionable guidance that supports sound decision-making and strengthens organizational governance.
