Sara Goldhardt is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and her life reflects a deep commitment to both professional growth and family. A graduate of The Ohio State University, where she studied Accounting and French, Sara is especially proud that she was able to successfully balance her career while raising her daughter, now twenty-two, and attending law school.
 
A passionate fan of Coldplay, the New York Yankees, and, of course, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Sara brings the same enthusiasm to her personal life. When not solving problems for clients, she enjoys traveling, Pilates, and recreational bartending—a nod to her love for connection and creativity.
  • Professional Bio

    • Sara has more than 20 years of experience in federal and state and local tax, servicing public and private companies in the manufacturing, construction, healthcare, professional services, and retail industries.

      At GBQ, Sara leads the firm’s state income/franchise tax services practice. In this role, she coordinates the successful completion of all multistate income/franchise tax engagements. Sara focuses her expertise on managing state income tax compliance, Ohio Commercial Activity Tax (CAT) consulting, nexus studies, allocation/apportionment reviews, and transactional planning. She also assists clients with municipal income taxes, employment taxes and credits, and mobile and remote workforce tax matters.

      Prior to joining GBQ, Sara worked within Deloitte’s federal tax practice in Columbus, Ohio, where she primarily served middle-market clients in the manufacturing and construction industries. Sara was also employed as a senior tax accountant at Greif located in Delaware, OH. While at Greif, she worked extensively in the areas of federal tax compliance, ASC 740, multistate income and franchise tax compliance, and state income tax audits.

      Sara is a former member of the National Board of Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD), where she served as National Board Treasurer. In that role, she was the Board Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee.
