The road less traveled
He’s hiked the Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska. He’s cruised the Galapagos Islands on a (really small) sailboat. He even convinced his west side wife to make the move to the east side of Cincinnati. But ask Ryan his real claim to fame, and he’s sure to tell you it’s this: if challenged, he can definitely rap more old-school R&B lyrics than you can.
A former GBQ Rookie of the Year, Ryan’s an old pro at helping his clients save their tax dollars, and helping them implement sound business strategies that’ll get them closer to their business and personal goals.

Ryan joined GBQ in 2017, bringing substantial leadership and technical tax skills to the firm. In 2020, Ryan accepted an opportunity with a local CPA firm before returning to GBQ in 2021.
Having spent more than a decade in public accounting, Ryan provides significant tax compliance and consulting services to middle-market and closely-held companies. Specifically, he focuses on leading the tax efforts for GBQ’s construction and restaurant industry practices. In 2024, he earned the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional designation from the Construction Financial Management Association, the only construction financial management certification accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board. Additionally, Ryan plays a role in providing transaction advisory services to various clients throughout the firm. Before moving into public accounting, Ryan was a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service.
Ryan is actively involved in numerous organizations outside of work, including the Cincinnati chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Cincinnati chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association. He also serves as a board officer and finance committee chair for New Path Child & Family Solutions.
