Working in business development for 30 years, we weren’t surprised when Rick told us that his skin was, “about three inches thick.”
He’s always fishing for leads, business, insights and yes, even actual fish. He has hundreds of pet fish—bass, catfish, walleyes, crappies—all in a pond near his home.

Rick joined GBQ in 2004 and works to facilitate introductions to GBQ resources and alliance partners as needed.
Rick looks out for the best interests of clients and prospects by facilitating introductions to various GBQ accounting, tax, and business consulting personnel that can help make and save money. From manufacturing to non-profits, to public companies, Rick is well versed in the topics and services applicable to a wide range of industries. Rick has access to GBQ and the BDO Alliance resources that can be brought to bear on just about any business opportunity or challenge.
He works to build an integrated team that focuses on the success and profitability of your business.
Rick has 30 years of business development experience including 20 years of business development and marketing experience in the accounting industry. Rick’s first experience with accounting firm development began in 1999 with 5 years at one of the true giants of the industry, Ernst & Young LLP. While at E&Y, Rick was able to draw upon the global resources of E&Y and was exposed to many services that now exist within GBQ and the BDO Alliance’s capabilities.
From a continuing education perspective, Rick is responsible for ensuring that our clients, prospective clients, and friends of the firm are invited to GBQ seminars, webinars, and other continuing professional education opportunities. Rick also works closely with the Managing Partner on client satisfaction initiatives, including client satisfaction surveys and in-person interviews.
