A Difference Maker
Michael Wilson and his wife Katie once hiked 26 miles across the Grand Canyon in a single day, the kind of endurance that defines his 15 years building lasting credit union relationships.
Dedicated to making a difference for his clients as well as in his community, the Ohio State graduate moved from South Toledo to Columbus for college and never left. Now he and his wife are raising their kids, Rowan and Esme, while coaching youth soccer and basketball in New Albany.
When he's not providing assurance and forensic investigations for credit union clients or cycling in Pelotonia, Michael is working toward learning guitar, though he admits his fingers and brain are still negotiating their coordination.

- Michael joined GBQ in 2026, bringing more than 14 years of experience serving credit unions and financial institutions across the country. He brings deep expertise in assurance, forensic investigations, and internal operations, paired with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach to client service.
Prior to joining GBQ, Michael served as Controller and Vice President of Finance at a Central Ohio-based federal credit union, where he was a key member of the management team. In that role, he led financial reporting and compliance efforts, partnered closely with executive leadership, and helped guide organization-wide initiatives spanning operations, technology, and regulatory compliance.
Earlier in his career, Michael spent more than a decade with a CPA firm dedicated exclusively to credit unions, where he managed audit and consulting engagements for more than 50 institutions nationwide and advised executive leadership on complex accounting, regulatory, and forensic matters.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. He is a licensed CPA in Ohio, a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor, and a member of the AICPA and OSCPA.
