Reading between the lines.
Since following her heart across the border — leaving her native Toronto for the great city of Toledo — Maysoon has gotten married, had a son and twin daughters, joined our GBQ family, and continued to travel the world. She's a creator (everything from gourmet meals to unique jewelry) and an avid speed reader (she finishes most novels in less than 24 hours!) and we're not sure where she finds the time.
After spending more than a decade at a Big Four firm in Toronto, and being selected as Canada's first ever chief of staff for the audit practice, Maysoon knows she's been blessed to do great work and have great experiences. These days, the best part of her job is the mentoring — learning from her own leaders, as well as taking the opportunity to teach others.

Maysoon joined GBQ in 2022 with 12 years of Big 4 experience at Deloitte, where she most recently served as the Chief of Staff of the Toronto Audit and Assurance practice, designing and executing strategic practices to enhance efficiency and productivity. By leveraging Maysoon's previous experience at Deloitte, she brings a unique perspective to GBQ's internal processes and policies.
Maysoon has serviced several industries throughout her career, with expertise in retail, consumer business, and manufacturing. In addition to coordinating large-scale international audits across multiple reporting entities and various industries, Maysoon has experience leading single-operation, one-location audits. Additionally, she is proficient in the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the respective auditing standards for these frameworks.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Maysoon graduated from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto, considered Canada's top-ranked university.
