Keita Sato moved from Japan to Ohio at a young age and built his life and career here — but he's spent the last several years bringing that dual perspective full circle, becoming a professional and personal bridge between the U.S. and Japan.
The Ohio State University graduate brings over a decade of auditing experience to his role in business development at GBQ, along with a natural comfort level moving between cultures, adapting to new environments, and finding common ground where others might see only differences.
Outside the office, Keita stays active year-round — from running triathlons to snowboarding. His goal is to make GBQ the most trusted CPA firm in Ohio's Japanese business market, and given how naturally he bridges two worlds, that goal feels well within reach.

Keita joined GBQ in 2026 as a Director in GBQ’s Japanese Business Services practice, where he helps Japanese-owned businesses successfully navigate operations in the United States. With close to two decades of experience, Keita brings a deep understanding of both U.S. and Japanese business environments, allowing him to effectively support clients with cross-border accounting, advisory, and business development needs.
Keita began his career in audit and has since expanded his focus to business development, working closely with organizations to build trusted relationships and deliver tailored solutions. His ability to bridge cultural and communication gaps—paired with his bilingual background—enables him to connect clients across geographies and guide them through complex business landscapes.
Originally born in Japan and raised in Ohio, Keita offers a unique global perspective shaped by his personal and professional experiences. He remains actively engaged in strengthening connections between Japanese and U.S. business communities, including participating in international delegations such as the Ohio trade mission to Japan. His goal is to position GBQ as the most trusted CPA firm within the Japanese Business Services market in Ohio.
Keita earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is a member of the AICPA, OSCPA, JASCO, and COJAC.
