A baseball fanatic, Kari once took a trip out west to see nine games in seven stadiums across five cities. But her favorite place to pass the time? Great American Ball Park, of course. She and her husband (also a Reds season ticket holder — but he had to get his own) keep busy with their close family, which includes two dogs and a cat.
Kari’s quick to remind folks to “never let anyone steal your sunshine,” and her clients know she’s a ray of light. They also know if it’s a sunny summer day, she’s probably taking in a game.

Kari joined GBQ in 2023 with nearly two decades of public accounting experience, most recently serving the restaurant industry as Assurance Director within BDO USA’s leadership team. Kari’s national restaurant industry experience, combined with substantial knowledge managing audits, reviews and compilations, helps to empower growth of GBQ’s clients across all segments of the industry, including franchisors and franchisees, independents, startups and emerging brands, and mature concepts.
While overseeing diverse and complex technical accounting matters, financial reporting requirements and client-specific issues for restaurant and franchisor companies of various sizes, Kari has extensive experience in 401(k) benefit plan audits and internal control assessments.
Kari is a regular attendee at national restaurant industry conferences and educational seminars, where she has also served as a speaker. Additionally, she is a thought leader contributor to various industry publications.
