Kara is at her best when the path gets complicated, whether it’s hiking The Narrows in Zion or untangling a tough tax issue. With more than 20 years in public accounting, this Miami University graduate and lifelong Cincinnati resident is known for sharp judgment, calm execution, and getting the details right on every turn.
 
When she’s not working, she enjoys exploring national parks, spending time with her husband and three daughters, and caring for their beloved rescue dogs.

Professional Bio

  • Kara brings more than 25 years of expertise to GBQ. To start her public accounting career, she worked at KPMG and then transitioned to the local Cincinnati firm Rippe & Kingston, which was later acquired by RSM. Kara has experience in various tax and accounting-related projects and tools, such as QuickBooks, payroll, general accounting, and insurance.


    She has worked with diverse entities and individuals. For the majority of her career, Kara worked primarily on pass-through entities and their related individual owners. She also has exposure to C-corporations, S corporations, LLCs, and partnerships, as well as complex entities/individuals and multi-state filings for businesses/individuals.
