Like all true fans of Ohio sports — the Buckeyes and the Browns — Jeff has learned that, with time, patience, and a bit of perspective, the highs and lows will balance out. And those accounting guys are all about balance, after all. He’s the father of two active boys and is already working on perfecting their golf swings (it’ll be easier when the youngest can walk).
Jeff joined the GBQ family with more than a decade’s worth of client-serving public accounting experience; he shares his expertise by leading training sessions and mentoring other young professionals.

Jeff is a Director within the Assurance practice and recently joined GBQ in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was a Director within Battelle Memorial Institute’s Financial Planning & Analysis department with emphasis on corporate finance, venture investments, and Battelle’s science and technology (S&T) portfolio. Jeff also provided financial oversight and support to Battelle’s alternative business modeling capabilities, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Upon graduating from Ohio State University in 2004, Jeff’s career began at Ernst & Young’s Columbus office, where he was a senior manager within the firm’s Assurance practice. During his time at Ernst & Young, Jeff’s client service experience included organizations both big and small, including SEC registrants, privately held companies, and nonprofit entities. Jeff also served as technical instructor within Ernst & Young’s internal training programs as well as external Accounting & Auditing seminars and speaking events.
Jeff has a wide range of industry expertise having served clients in the automotive, manufacturing, retail, and software industries. He also serves several of GBQ’s construction, investment fund, not-for-profit, and real estate clients within the firm’s Assurance practice. In addition to financial statement audit services, Jeff specializes in internal control over financial reporting, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, PCAOB regulatory standards, and the COSO framework.
Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
