Quite the character — in every sense of the word.
Chris Dean has de-iced an airplane in a blizzard, owns a burnt-orange polyester leisure suit and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University. Some might call him a character, but it’s his ability to look beyond the ordinary and find the answers to tough problems that makes him an asset to GBQ.
He brings thirteen years of experience to our team, as well as an amazing ability to roll with the punches inflicted by this business. His favorite quote is, “Life’s not about weathering the storm, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
We just wonder if he can dance in that leisure suit.

Chris, a graduate of The Ohio State University, began his career in public accounting with GBQ Partners LLC in 2001.
Chris has served clients in a variety of industries including technology, financial and investment services, manufacturing, professional services and wholesale distribution. He also has significant experience in Investment Partnership and Corporate Taxation. Chris’ focus at GBQ is to provide tax compliance and consulting for middle market, closely-held businesses and to assist clients with their business planning, compliance and tax examination needs.
Chris leads the Tax Service Offerings practice at GBQ. This practice consists of various tax planning strategies designed to optimize taxpayer benefits and mitigate tax liabilities. He is also the technical advisor on tax matters within GBQ’s Transaction Advisory Services, which assist clients in transactions involving the acquisition or disposition of a business.
Chris has been a trusted service provider to the technology incubator organization Rev1 Ventures (formerly TechColumbus) for several years. In addition, he has authored numerous articles on varying topics of taxation and is a regular presenter on technical tax concepts and updates.
Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and formerly served on the Executive Board for the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he is currently Treasurer of the Columbus Historical Society and also serves as President for The Columbus Association of Tax Professionals.
