If you think the commute is tough where you're from, let Ben tell you about the time he hit rush hour in Bangalore… in a tuk-tuk. He's also road-tripped through the Pacific Northwest and across the Olympic Peninsula, indulging in his lifelong love of travel. But the best stuff has happened closer to home: he met his wife at a movie theater in college at Ohio State, not far from the central Ohio home where he grew up; now they're raising their own children in the shadow of the 'Shoe.
“Measure twice, cut once” feels like a good mantra for someone like Ben: there's not a lot of room for error when you're working every day to protect the integrity of our banking system. As Ben will attest, it's always faster to double-check your work than spend time fixing mistakes.

Ben joined GBQ in 2020 with over ten years of financial services and regulatory compliance experience specializing in Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations and the Bank Secrecy Act.
At GBQ, Ben is responsible for providing regulatory expertise and compliance assistance to our clients, including performing BSA compliance audits, ACH audits, SAFE Act audits, and Fair Lending audits. Ben also conducts special compliance reviews, risk assessments, fraud audits, due diligence reviews, internal control reviews and agreed-upon procedures audits for credit union industry clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Ben assisted with mortgage operations and consumer Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) fraud operations efforts. Additionally, he oversaw AML/KYC compliance quality control audits, process improvement and control reporting.
