The ping pong ball, that is: Bart was his junior class ping pong champion (an informal title, but still). It’s that laser focus and following his mantra — you’ll miss 100% of the shots you don’t take — that have helped Bart achieve so many of his goals: traversing the Grand Canyon, starting a family, and moving from his hometown of Dayton, Ohio to Columbus to begin his next chapter with GBQ as a Tax Senior Manager.
He loves the feeling of satisfaction that comes from completing a complex project or executing the “just right” tax planning strategy for his clients.

Bart joined GBQ in 2018 with a breadth of taxation experience between public and corporate accounting. Previously, he spent over nine years working at Ernst & Young and RSM, in addition to two years working in the corporate tax department of a large SEC registrant.
Bart has served clients in a number of industries including manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, construction and real estate and government contractors. He also has significant experience working with Japanese-owned automotive equipment and part suppliers.
Bart assists many clients with various federal and state tax planning and compliance, including ASC 740 – Accounting for Income Taxes, corporate acquisitions, entity choice, and international tax planning and compliance matters. He was instrumental in local office training and client adoption of the IRS Tangible Property Regulations released in 2014 and continues to assist clients with realizing significant tax savings opportunities. Bart also initiated and executed several planning strategies surrounding the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, resulting in substantial tax savings.
