Not only is Alex passionate about providing insight for our ESOP, financial reporting, valuation, and gift and estate valuation clients, but he is also passionate about adventure and history! Alex once embarked on a thrilling fishing trip in Canada, venturing to an unnamed lake to catch massive 5-6 foot muskies. A lover of ancient history and the origins of civilizations, Alex's curiosity knows no bounds.
He grew up in Minford, Ohio, and his family has deep roots in public accounting, with both his parents and grandfather being CPAs. After a brief stint in Atlanta, Alex returned to Ohio and now resides in Powell. Alex lives by his father's advice that if you're the smartest person in the room, it's time to find a new room. He is a true Buckeye; in the fall, Alex can be found at every Ohio State football home game.

Alex is a Manager in the valuation advisory practice of GBQ Capital Advisors. He has performed or contributed to more than 150 valuation assignments since joining GBQ in 2023, for numerous purposes, including: Employee Stock Ownership Plans, estate and gift taxation, purchase price allocation in accordance with ASC 805, goodwill impairment testing in accordance with ASC 350, stock option valuation in accordance with ASC 718, buy-sell agreements, fairness opinions, mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements and other shareholder transactions. In addition to business valuations, Alex also provides ESOP and transaction advisory services, including ESOP feasibility studies and sell-side ESOP advisory and consulting.
Alex’s experience includes business appraisals of entities in numerous industries, including: industrial manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, logistics, fabrication, retail, construction, healthcare services, food services, advertising/marketing, engineering/architecture, professional services, telecommunications, technology, and holding company/estate planning vehicles.
Before joining GBQ, Alex was an Analyst at Stout Risius Ross, Inc, specializing in valuation for financial reporting and transaction advisory.
