Onboarding

Setting The Foundation For Your Growth.

Starting at a new firm can feel overwhelming. New systems, new people, new expectations. At GBQ, we’ve built an onboarding process that gets you oriented, connected, and contributing, without throwing you into the deep end.

From orientation through your first year, you’ll have structure, support, and clarity about what comes next.

The First 90 Days Set The Tone For All That Follows
Orientation
Your first days are about getting your bearings. You’ll meet your team, understand our systems, and learn how GBQ operates. We’ll cover the basics like technology, processes, culture, expectations, so you can focus on doing great work, not figuring out how things work.
Your Performance Manager
From day one, you’re paired with a Performance Manager who guides your development. They’re your advocate, your resource, and your go-to person for questions, feedback, and career planning. You’re not navigating this alone.
Training & Development
Your first months include technical training, soft-skills workshops, and team integration. You’ll learn our methodologies, build relationships across the firm, and develop the skills you need to succeed here.
Integration
You’ll be introduced to your clients, your projects, and your responsibilities early. Because the best way to learn is by doing, with support when you need it.

''GBQ provides its professionals the agility to deliver impactful and consistently high-quality client service by encouraging engagement teams to leverage professional judgment as opposed to dependence on non-local parent office personnel. GBQ provided the perfect blend of what I was looking for in terms of a continued career in public accounting, namely the opportunity to work in a high-performing and energetic environment while enabling my family to grow and take root here in central Ohio.''

''Entrepreneurial spirit, independent expertise is more than just our tagline. We encourage people across the firm (not just management) to think and act as entrepreneurs. The firm wants people to bring forward new ideas about client service, service offerings, development, and other growth and improvement initiatives. Our clients are entrepreneurs, and we are too.''

''Coming out of college, it is hard to tell from your class experience whether you want tax or audit. I had a similar struggle, that’s why GBQ’s rotation program was a great fit for me. I thought I wanted to be an auditor, but after getting a full rotation in both departments, I realized tax was the best fit for me.''
