February 28, 2025 | Toledo, Ohio - GBQ, a Top 100 tax, accounting, and consulting firm, has announced its Toledo office has been recognized as a 2025 Top Workplace by The Blade , a Toledo-based daily news publication, for the third consecutive year. This marks the fourth time GBQ has been honored for its people-first workplace culture since entering the Toledo market in December 2020.
“At GBQ, we are dedicated to creating and maintaining a unique culture of open communication, collaboration, and diversity. Receiving workplace culture accolades across all office locations fuels our commitment to cultivating an environment that empowers the growth of our team and the communities we’re proud to serve,” said Toledo Managing Director, Bret Clark.
Since 2014, The Blade has partnered with Energage to identify the area’s best employers through an evaluation of anonymous employee feedback, with participating companies being measured and ranked according to several workplace culture benchmarks. According to the 2025 Top Workplace website, these benchmarks encompass the extent to which employees feel valued, respected, and supported, enabled to grow, closely aligned with the organization, and empowered to execute. Among the 58 honorees recognized among the list of 2025 Top Workplaces, GBQ ranked seventh in the Small Business category, which included companies with fewer than 74 local employees.
Over the years, Energage and Top Workplaces have studied more than 70,000 organizations. According to their research findings, organizations with a Top Workplaces award have a 68 percent engagement rate, while average organizations only have a 31 percent engagement rate.
