Business continuity is an organization-wide function, not just IT. While IT disaster recovery is a key component of the information security program, the ability of the organization to react to and recover from threats to its operation is a necessary component of safe and sound operation.
Business Continuity services provide Management with support and guidance in the development of a new Business Continuity Plan, or review and update of an existing one. A key aspect of this service focuses on developing the capabilities of the organization’s staff to incorporate business continuity controls in their approach to daily operations, as well as to identify gaps or potential improvement in the BCP of their areas of responsibility.
These services also encompass the design of new, or review of existing, IT Disaster Recovery plans, including communications, systems, personnel and vendor considerations.
