A real estate development and property management company needed to fill their vacant Controller position. GBQ was able to provide the client with an experienced team member to temporarily fill the position.

The Challenge

A real estate development and property management client unexpectedly lost their Controller and needed to find someone to step into the position for several weeks while they searched for a full-time replacement.

The Solution

GBQ was able to provide the Company with an experienced team member who was able to step in as temporary Controller while the Company searched for a full-time employee to fill the position. Under the direction of the Company’s CFO, GBQ performed the necessary day-to-day activities of the Controller and was responsible for overseeing the month-end closing process for multiple properties. In addition, GBQ was able to offer suggestions on how to improve the monthly closing process and overall accounting function.

Benefits

The Company was able to perform a thorough search for a full-time Controller without significantly increasing the workload of other employees. In turn, GBQ was able to train the new Controller on many of the activities required by the position. Additionally, the Company was able to streamline their month-end closing process based on suggestions received from GBQ.
