The Wise HIPAA Online Training Program
is a web-based training program that teaches basic information
regarding the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act of 1996 as it relates to the Privacy Rule that became
effective on April 14, 2003.
This program presents the main concepts of the Privacy Rule
regarding compliance requirements and the responsibilities
each employee accepts when working in healthcare including
all the major risk areas. Several real life examples of how
to apply the concepts are included. There are five chapters
to the program with a quiz at the end of each chapter. There
is no time limit and a user may exit the program at any time
and then resume later where they left off. At the completion
of the entire program, the user will receive a certificate
of completion. The Privacy Officer can access status reports
to monitor the progress of employees participating in the
program and can print reports to show organizational compliance.
