Angela is the Director of the Risk Advisory Group of GBQ Consulting LLC.
She has over 10 years of experience in the areas of external auditing,
financial accounting and reporting, and internal audit and consulting.
She is a Certified Public Accountant in Ohio and a Certified Financial
Services Auditor with a specialization in Insurance and Annuities.
Client industries that she has served include insurance, annuities,
mutual funds, broker-dealers and investment advisors, banking and credit
unions, public and private sector retirement plans, retail, not-for-profit
entities and manufacturing.
Angela is a 1997 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where she obtained
her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accountancy.
She began her professional services career at the Dayton, Ohio office of Deloitte
& Touche, LLP. Subsequent to that, she worked for Battelle & Battelle, LLP, also
in Dayton. Prior to joining GBQ, Angela worked in the Financial Reporting department
for Value City Department Stores in Columbus, Ohio, where she was responsible for
consolidation of the company’s financials, coordination of the financial statement
closing process, and preparation of the quarterly and annual SEC filings and press releases.
Most recently, Angela spent five years in the Office of Internal Audit at Nationwide Insurance
in Columbus, Ohio. She acted as an Audit Consultant in the Nationwide Financial Services
(NFS) department, serving the public company subsidiary of the Nationwide Mutual Insurance
parent. Angela served the product segments of NFS, including life insurance, annuities,
pension plans, 401k plans, the recently acquired Nationwide Mutual Funds, the investment
advisors and broker dealers, as well as the newly created Nationwide Bank serving Nationwide
employees, their families, and Nationwide agents. Her responsibilities included performing
and managing financial, operational, compliance and strategic audits or project services that
concluded in formal presentation of results to senior management and governing boards.
Angela joined GBQ in 2007 and is responsible for all aspects of the Risk Advisory Services practice.
In this capacity, she specializes in providing business risk and internal control assessment reviews,
business process reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance services to clients in a variety of industries.
Angela is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
