Matt provides state and local tax consulting services to a variety of clients in the manufacturing, contracting, retail and financial service industries.
In the sales and use tax area, his practice primarily focuses on multi-state tax opinions, voluntary disclosures, managed audits, direct pay implementation, compliance process analyses and tax controversy.
In addition to the above, Matt has experience with tax credits, discretionary incentives, personal property tax, real property tax, and local income tax matters.
Before joining GBQ Partners, Matt was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young LLP’s State and Local Tax Group based in Cleveland.
He was also a Manager with Deloitte & Touch LLP’s Multistate Tax Services group in Columbus.
In addition, Matt has served as a lecturer on sales and use tax for Lorman Educational Services and National Business Institute.
Matt received his B.A. in Accounting from Mount Union College, and his Juris Doctorate and LLM in Taxation from
Capital University Law School. Matt is a member of the taxation section of the Ohio State Bar Association.
