Scott graduated from The Ohio State University in 1992
with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major
in accounting. After graduation, he began his public
accounting career as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand
in Columbus. He joined our firm in 1994.
Scott's practice specialty focus is technical accounting
and financial reporting matters and he is routinely assigned
to engagements where there is a high level of acquisition,
transactional and other high-level accounting matters. Scott
is involved in the maintenance of the firm's quality control
standards for assurance services. Accordingly, he is required
to attend additional high-level technical continuing education
sessions serving to significantly strengthen his subject matter
knowledge of financial accounting and reporting issues as well
as be cutting-edge current with recently issued pronouncements.
Scott is very active in the development of our firm-wide audit
process which includes implementing new standards across all
of our clients as well as engineering our overall procedures
to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Scott's public accounting experience has included serving both
private and public manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, retail
and other product or service companies. This experience includes
the performance and management of audits, reviews and various
other business consulting projects. Scott has also helped several
clients acquire multiple entities. He has been involved in all
phases of the acquisition from initial due diligence, structuring
and valuing the transaction, and implementing appropriate
accounting procedures to reviewing financial statement
presentations.
Scott is a member of the American Institute and Ohio Society
of Certified Public Accountants.
