Chantale S. Lisko, CPA
ASSURANCE SERVICES SENIOR MANAGER


Chantale is originally from Québec, Canada, where she graduated from Sherbrooke University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. After working two years in public accounting in Québec, Chantale moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she obtained her certified public accountant certification and worked four years for KPMG before joining GBQ in 2000.

Over the last eleven years, Chantale has served clients in a variety of industries including not-for-profit, healthcare, service, education, distribution and manufacturing. Her responsibilities include performing and managing financial statement audits that conclude in formal presentation of results to the senior management and governing boards of clients. As it relates more specifically to her experience with not-for-profit and healthcare clients, Chantale has been involved with audits performed in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, audits performed in accordance with OMB Circular A-133 and preparation of management recommendations related to internal control enhancements. Chantale was also involved in a revenue reengineering project for a hospital that substantially helped reduce its collection backlog as well as improve significantly its policies and procedures involved in the billing and collection of patient accounts. Chantale was heavily involved in due diligence projects related to hospital acquisitions, which concluded in her involvement in purchase price negotiation meetings. More recently, Chantale was involved in assisting a local public company fulfill its Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements, participating in all phases of the project from documentation and testing, to aggregation and assessment of results.

Within the firm, Chantale is in charge of the continuous professional education program for assurance staff. Her duties involve researching potential classes, monitoring compliance with different associations, boards and institutes, as well as facilitating the entire coordination of professional education. Chantale also participates in the maintenance of the firm quality control standards and is involved in the pre-issuance quality control review of attestation engagements. In addition, over the last two years, Chantale has been awarded the "5-Star External Service Award" by her peers.

Chantale is a member of the American Institute and Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). She also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Stewardship Commission of St. Peter Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio.
