Don is a Director, Assurance & Business Advisory Services, with more than 21 years of audit experience. Prior to joining GBQ Partners in August of 2006, Don was an auditor at Ernst & Young LLP for twenty years.
During his entire career, Don?s primary focus has been serving privately-held companies, especially businesses in the manufacturing sector, and has served companies that manufacture various food items. In addition to his experience in providing financial statement audit, review, and compilation services, he has extensive experience in advising companies on various accounting issues, as well as product cost analysis, general ledger design, and internal controls development. He has also helped clients develop cost accounting systems on numerous occasions.
Throughout his career, Don has frequently delivered presentations to Boards of Directors and Audit Committees on a wide range of topics including audit proposals, audit execution plans, complex accounting issues and company financial performance. In addition, he has facilitated discussions on topics such as strategic planning, financing alternatives and qualifications required for accounting and finance department positions.
In addition, Don has led the transition of providing professional accounting, auditing and tax services to companies from a predecessor to successor firm on numerous occasions. Through these experiences, Don has developed a professional, cooperative and efficient approach to ensure that the service provided to the client is seamless.
Don is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. His education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University.
